I was going after 656 - loved it, with few minor complaints - no S-video switching, no digital out, no DTS (not so important) and a baaaad remote..
Now I'm not so sure anymore.
I would looove to get some info on AVR65, most important; S-video switching capabilities (if any), digital output (I pray that there is digital out - that would decide), how many DSP modes..
If I'm corect AVR65 has 5.1 ins and preouts? I hope there are enough digital ins...
Actually I would appreciate any info I could get on this unit...(anyone had an oportunity to hear it?! And?!)

: I have been waiting for H/K to get their act together for some time now with a new affordable and correctly "featured" AVR. I have an AVR 70 and I love it. If the AVR 65 has the same sound quality plus DD and DTS and DD Ready inputs and DPL and pre-amp outs like the marketing sheets claim, it is going to be an absolute steal at $800 to $1000. I can't wait til Christmas (sad to hear that from a grown man, but even we still have our toys, right?)

: You can get H/K to send you more technical information directly simply by calling their customer service @
: (800) 336-4525. I called them and they sent me some glossys on both the AVR-45 and the AVR-65. They give all the important specs, but they're not the real goods as far as technical manuals go. The web page is not very helpful at this time, since the product isn't even on the shelves at Circuit City yet.
