Graham,

: I notice from the photograph of the rear panel that this amp does not have provision for bi-wiring the centre channel speaker! I thought that this was a feature that Yamaha pursued vigourously?

I think Yamaha actually wants people to use two centre loudspeakers, many of their amplifiers and receivers I've had of late have had that provision. In the home its actually a really bad idea to connect to centre 'speakers, one is back to hearing a "phantom" image and all listeners/viewers outside of that sweet spot get untold comb filtering effects.

I'm fairly confident that Yamaha are the only manufacturer to suggest such a thing.

Sorry I can't help with your RX-V795 questions, try posting a new message about it, that could target people who have first hand experience with the thing.

Stuart.
