PC line out to receiver...

Is there any way of connecting a line out of a sound card (in my case an AWE 32) to my home theater system without getting that constant, annoying low feedback noise? I have tried connecting it to an Aux, a VCR in, a CD in, messed with the volume settings on the cards, the input levels on the receiver, all to no avail.

I am trying to connect it to a Denon AVR-5600. Any help would be appreciated.
