HK AVR-65, how much & when?

I'm looking for a new DD/DTS receiver or integrated amp to upgrade from pro logic. I don't want to spend over $1000 but I want great music capability too. I'm willing to wait awhile but not 3 months. I'm currently running a Luxman L-100 integrated amp which puts out a conservative 100 watts and would like something close to that sound quality. Thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated.
