Sony STR-DE925 VS. Yamaha R-V1103

I'm a newbie at this Home Theater stuff, but am very interested and plan to buy very soon.

I had my heart set on the ONKYO 747, w/RT800 POLKS'... But my buget doesn't permit, so I had my eye on the Yamaha and Sony High-End Digital Recievers, both at $ 599.00 Can someone give me some advice?
