How much do you want to spend?
Are you looking at upgrading to Dolby Digital/DTS (5.1 channel digital) or just dolby pro-logic (4 channel analog)?
Do you want THX certification? Please be more specific about what you are looking for so responses can be more accurate and informative.
As far as staying away from obsoletion in two years, good luck.
