I have the 747, a Sony XBR 35" TV, and DishNetwork. I've compared the image directly from the dish with the one routed through the 747. To me, they are identical.

I do like the sound and features of the 747, also. The remote is comfortable to use, but it won't control the EchoStar box. I use the EchoStar universal remote for everything except the receiver.
