SOUNDSTAGE 98 electronics show,what did you think?

I was there last saturday. I was just wondering what everyones opinion was on this event. I went there hoping to see a wide selection to see what options were available to me. I was however quite dissapointed in the event. There was only 2 out of 45 vendors that had equipement in my price range (Onkyo & pioneer) It was pretty cool to see some of the high end stuff that I have only read about, but, the show was dominated by this type of gear. The key word here is "consumer" electronics show. Am I now to assume that the fact I cannot spend 10 - 20 grand on a home theater, I am in the minority? The rooms on the 2nd,3rd and 4th floor were also too crowded because they were just normal hotel rooms(very cheesy). In all, the show made my 3 grand budget I have to spend on a home theater look pitiful.
