We are in the same range in terms of budget. I understand the final costs of the DC-1 and that is exactly why I am requesting feedback. I have not heard about the Classe' piece. Where can I get info or look at a review of this product? Since you did not comment on the Acurus or B&K, I will assume that they are not in the same class.

: Not sure of your budget. These pieces vary wildly in price and performance with the DC1 being the top of both by a wide margin.

: I'm looking in the $3500 price range. I am looking at the Theta Casanova and possibly the new Classe` SSP25.($3600 and 3000 respectively) Both are new and supposed to be good. Hope to hear them side by side within a couple of weeks.

: If you want to spend the $5K for the Lexicon, I'd suggets listening to the Proceed AVP. Sounds 98% as good as the DC1 on movies and blows it away on music.

: From the description and pricing of the balance of your system, I'd recommend waiting to see what shakes out with the new products. Also, Lexicon is going to be introducing 3 new models and phasing out the DC1 REAL SOON. One is around $3K, another around $5K, and unsure of the top piece but its rumored to be around 8-10K. All are supposed to be superior on music and cinema to the DC1.

: Good Luck.

: : I am running the Atlantic Technology System 350 THX speakers, Parasound 1205A amp and would like to add a good pre/pro controller with upgrade capability to Dolby Digital, DTS, and THX. I am considering Acurus ACT-3, Lexicon DC-1, and B&K reference 202. Are there other candidates that worth looking into? My goal is a good system not a zero bank account. Please help????
