Kenwood 1080VR problem

I have a Kenwood 1080VR and off late, after about 6 months of use, the sound coming from the system seems to have dropped especially after using it with my DVD player. I used to listen at -30db to -35db earlier, now I have to go up to about -20db to -25db. I know that the Kenwood has a weak Amp. I wanted to know if anyone has the same problem and tried to rectify it.
