The latest issue of Home Theater magazine has several good articles on midrange receivers. They did a review on one of the Yamahas (I believe the 2095). They concur with the other post; they felt maybe 6 of the DSP modes were useful, and two were great; the rest were just hype or detrimental.

The same issue also had reviews on the Kenwood, and a review of three receivers where the audience was a panel of 138 subscribers.

Hope this helps; I'm waiting for the 995 to show up, and so are the local stores!
