HELP! 8ohm receiver driving 4ohm M&K speakers?

I recently opened up my Bose 301's to replace the foam on the spekers and they had resistors inside them and so has a number of other speakers I've had over the years. They don't do harm to anything. They are used by the manufacturers to control the total OHM ratings of their speakers. Like you said, why aren't there any 5.25 or 7 ohm speakers. Chances are there's a resistor inside the enclosure to keep it at 8 or whatever ohm they are rated at.
