What does "S/PDIF" stand for?

When you get yourself your new Receiver, make sure it has 5.1 inputs, this for future upgrades. A 5.1 input is set of 6 (Front L & R / Center / rear l & R / Subwoofer ( that's the .1)
ANALOG inputs, for future upgrades, like an external decoder, when something new comes up in the future, that your Receiver doesn't currently support. Also this is very cool for hooking up your SB-live, for 4 speaker support....

I would also recommend to get a receiver which supports BOTH Dolby Digital AND DTS.... You never know if that format is REALLY going to make it...
