We use it occasionally, through a separate amp that powers three rooms. A frustration is that the AVR defaults the setting to the tuner which we rarely use, meaning that each time we want to use the multiroom function, we need to set it up, a fairly cumbersome process even through the on screen menu. I can't imagine doing it with the TV off or in a non-TV room. If you figure out a way, please let me know
