I am not GDS but they are both fine products. The Yamaha has many more bells and whistles. It has been highly recommended and most seem quite happy with it.

Some claim it to be bright in the sound department. Denon is to light on the bass for some. HK is the best for musical reproduction but does not hold up to the Yamaha in HT.

I have the 50ES and am happy for what I need and what I paid....It is awesome. I like the sound of ES amps.

I would suggest the Yamaha over the HK because of reliability concerns right now. If HK has fixed it, then it would be my unit of choice. I like the sound of the HK better. Listen for yourself and enjoy.
