I think you're right, the current Onkyo line-up is rather odd, every model seems to have something missing or something annoying (like fan noise). The current flagship TX-DS939 is flawed by a lack of any 5.1 upgrade path, it doesn't even have analogue inputs and for a £2,500 receiver that's nuts.
