I don't have a huge problem with the fan, the only time it seems to come on is when I pump it up loud, at which stage the volume of the fan is well and truly drowned out by the volume of the amp. However, hit the mute button and you will definately hear it for a couple of seconds (scared the hell out of me the first time I heard it, thought I had blown a transformer or something). However, I do have it sitting in an enclosed glass fronted open back cabinet, so I suppose that must help a bit.....
