Here is some specs from Sony Pre-amp..

From Sony Site:

Sony’s ES Pre-Amplifier is capable of processing any of the multichannel digital formats on the market today, Dolby® Digital (AC-3®), DTS®, Dolby Pro Logic® and MPEG2 formats.
What is the MPEG2 format? Some new format again?
