Yes, Michael; I too am curious about your "bright" remote. Is yours the one good one that got loose from the factory (the one that was supposed to be sent to the Sony top brass?)

I found no mfg date on my TP501 but a SN maybe? "80619B" on the inside of the battery lid.

I would like to know if yours is an updated version or the lucky 'one in a million'. Is your 50ES a US version?
