Motorola vs. Yamaha chips/asic

I've heard that Yamaha incorporated in
their DSP-A1 a Motorola chip for DTS
processing, while the newer RX-V2095
incorporates Yamaha all through.

Is it because the Yamaha DTS chip was NOT
available on time for DSP-A1 ?

Which is better ?

A friend of mine says that Motorola and TI
lead in DSP chips and Yamaha is not even
an adequate competitor.
