I really like the way you compared the two units. There's enough info on Sony 50ES, HK AVR65 and Yamaha RXV795 for a good comparison. These models are best for the money today and there are many people really interested in details. BTW. I auditioned AVR65 yesterday. Speaker setup: B&W604 front and B&W602 rear speakers, CC6 center (AND great MagnatVector sub. I wanted to hear it without sub 'cause you can't hear the real sound when this powerfull sub covers the soundstage) DD 5.1 playback was near to the perfect. It has been some time since I auditioned the 50ES and RXV795 but I don't remember I was this impressed. Same with stereo. It had only three DSP modes and if you like DSP you'll miss more DSP modes. (BTW. Hall 1, Hall 2 and Theater sounds as good as any Yamaha or Sony modes) I was a bit concerned about only two digital ins but.. when the time comes and I need more digital ins I'll probably need a new receiver too (not for next 3 years I hope). Now, I just need to make that big decision, go there buy it and never regret! What do you mean by "limited s-video switching". It was switching between all S ins without problems. What is "S-video switching" exactly? Damir
