Motorola vs. Yamaha chips/asic

I was told by a Yamaha Sales rep that the DSP-A2 uses the Yamaha DSP chip while the DSP-A1 uses the Motorola Chip. Can anybody confirm on this? Could that make a big difference in sound quality or just talking about loosing some DSP effect?
