The choice there is a business issue for Yamaha. I'm close to their 'silicon' business and Japanese culture, and its always policy to implement their own products whenever possible (vertical integration to the max...) but both Yamaha & Sony won't let internal schedules keep them from product introductions, thus the Moto "interim".
Now that the Yamaha ASICs deliver... its a Yamaha logo all the way.
