The AVR3200 is not a DTS reciever, but has inputs for DTS or whatever future decoders. The Panasonic DVD player doesn't have DTS decoders built-in, but is capable of passing DTS signals...into a decoder. If you don't have DTS decoder, the system is always ready for DolbyDigital if you have the AVR3200 reciever. Since you aren't capable of playing DTS with this setup at the moment (plus the fact that there's no assurance that this format would even survive since they like to delay!!!), why don't you get things together and enjoy the excellent Dolby Digital discs out there that your system is capable of playing. Then, when DTS ever becomes popular in a year or so, get yourself a decoder (which should be widely available and cheaper then) and enjoy! Gettin your cake and eatin it too! don't ya think? Good Luck
