Factory Reconditioned Receiver?

Posted by B. O'Brien [IP: 205.188.192.156] on March 28, 1999 at 18:36:07
Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; AOL 4.0; Windows 95):

I have seen "factory reconditioned recievers" offered several places on the web. One example is a Denon AVR-3600 for about $800 and comes with a 90 day warrany. This receiver usally lists for almost twice that much.

Does anyone have any comments or experience buying a unit like this? What does "factory reconditioned" mean? Am I better off buying new?
