Denon AVD-2000

Using Mozilla/4.51 [en] (Win95; I):

I need to get a DD decoder to put between my amp and pre-amp. I looked at the Mazantz and HK decoders, then came across the Denon unit. It is half the price of the other two. Does anyone have any experience with this unit ,(sound, ease of use, etc) is it as good as the Marantz and HK??
