Using Mozilla/4.51 [en] (Win95; U):

Set the receiver's switch to the "8 ohm" setting. This will deliver MAXIMUM POWER to the speakers.

The speaker sign simply means (as I read it), "if the amp can only drive a 4 ohm load, I can only handle 180 W of power; if the amp can drive an 8 ohm load, I can handle 300 W of power."

Therefore, choose the 8 ohm setting on the amp. :)
