Mike,

These hum problems are sometimes very difficult to eliminate and sometimes you may have to live with a slight amount of hum but usually not audible from your seating position.

First off is it hum 60Hz or 120Hz or is it a buzz? If it is a buzz it could be your TV or other equipment magnetically coupling into your cables and/or equipment. Either way hum or buzz you will have to determine the major source of the problem. Start with just the amp connected to the speakers with no input if you still have hum then move and/or unplug stuff till it goes away. Then start plugging in stuff until it returns. Now you should be able to determine if it is proximity or ground loop related. The key here is to simplify and find the root cause and eliminate it.

Good Luck, Don
