difference between denon 3200 and avr95
Posted by Ken Simmons [IP: 208.8.214.50] on April 01, 1999 at 07:34:14 In Reply to: difference between denon 3200 and avr95 posted by Jack on March 31, 1999 at 21:39:22: : The 3200 weight is about 3 pounds more (maybe a better amp?) than the avr 95 That probably means the Denon gets their power trannies from "Binford" (MORE POWER!!!)? ;) Seriously: larger tranny means MORE POWER (arr! arr!!! ARRR!!!) available for the electronics ('specially the AMPS!). : and the THD 0.07 on the avr 95 and THD 0.05 on the 3200. TOTALLY MEANINGLESS! the human ear's "distortion resolution" STOPS at around 1-2%. Anything lower is TOTALLY MEANINGLESS in terms of aural discrimination - only useful for "hype" and "bragging rights". No, what's important in a receiver today is: NUMBER/TYPE OF INPUTS! the more inputs, the better! Ken
