Sony 7700 and Denon 5700 connection

The Sony will not pass a 24/96 digital signal through either the coax or optical output, but will internally process 24/96 and output the signal via the analog outs. The coaxial digital output will usually be slightly better than the optical, but you'll have to do some listening tests to see if you prefer the coaxial digital or the analog. I use the coaxial, and am very satisfied.
