The AVR-95 is the superstore clone and exact twin to the AVR-2700. The AVR-95, 85, 75, 55 are their superstore clones so they don't put their specialty stores in direct competition with places like Sears, who carry these. The AVR-95 and other models compete with the Yamaha R-V series against mass market brands such as Pioneer, Kenwood, JVC, Sherwood, Sony, and Technics. That's why these model's power is higher, it's rated at 1 Khz like the mass market brands and not the usual 20 - 20 Khz. Myself, I just carried in my new Yamaha RX-V995 and CD player, CDC-675. Can't wait till it's all hooked up!
