:What I want to know is should I take the RX-V795 back and get the RX-V995 or put the money into another TV that has two S-Video jacks.

i say new tv (and depending what type of dvd player you have look for component video in as well). after a little trial and error i have all of my video sources going straight to the monitor bypassing my rx-v995. it handles audio only. the more direct route the better.
