I demo'ed this against the Yamaha RX-V995. I bought the Yamaha which seemed to do a better job on HT, but the Rotel was clearly superior for detail in music. As the Yamaha breaks in, I'm no longer sure about my decision...
In short, the Rotel is recommended. In that price range, try out the Yamaha and the Denon for yourself too.
