I think I can help. Here's the information from the sales brochure I received from the store I purchased my Denon AVR 3200 from.
-----------------
Denon AVR 2700 Dolby Digital A/V Receiver

* Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic Surround circuit
* External decoder Input for Every Future 5.1 Channel Format
* DDSC-Digital (Dynamic Discrete Surround Circuit-Digital)
* 96 kHz, 24-BIT Audio DACs
* Self-illuminated GLO-KEY Remote Controller (i.e. expose to light and they glow - REALLY BRIGHT and LONG-LASTING GLOW!)
* Personal memory Plus
* High Power Full Discrete 5-channel Amplifiers
* Two pairs of Front/Center Speaker Terminals for Bi-wiring
* Binding Speaker Terminals All Channels
* 40-station FM/AM Random Preset memory Tuning
* Auto Preset Memory
* Rich Array of Input/Output terminals (NO LIE! S-VIDEO and RCA video inputs on ALL devices EXCEPT the TAPE DECK input)
* 1 Optical Digital Input (disadvantage?)
* 2 (RCA) Coaxial Digital Inputs (AVR 3200 only has ONE RCA Coax input, the other "coax digital" input is AC-3 RF for Laserdisc players)
* 6 Surround Modes
* Cinema Equalizer (haven't tried this on my 3200)
* Programmable and PreMemory Remote Controller (see below)
* Video Select (i.e. RCA and S-VIDEO output to TV monitor)
* 80 WPC MINIMUM for all 5 channels (into 8 ohm load)
* Video Inputs: DVD/DVP, TV/DBS, VCR-1, VCR-2/AUX

Regarding the remote: it has BASIC PRE-PROGRAMMED functions (i.e. PLAY, STOP, POWER, PAUSE) for most brands of VCRs, VDPs (Laserdiscs) and TVs ("VIDEO" functions). For "CD", "DAT" and "(tape)DECK" functions ("AUDIO" functions), it can LEARN a few functions using the original remote as a "teacher". Finally, the remote has A TON OF BUTTONS that initially look "daunting", but are actually easy to use ONCE YOU GET FAMILIAR with the remote.

I hope this helps. :)

Ken

P.S. the image is MY Denon remote (RC-825) for your reference. :)
