Meridian 561 vs lexicon MC1 vs Proceed AVP(svid)

I prefer the hardware upgradable approach of the Casa Nova, though, because it won't be limited by processing power. Ever. Eventually, even the AVP will run out of horsepower, and when that happens, you'll have to get a new preamp. Still, that should take quite a while. Besides, Lexicon and Theta and Citation are really the only companies that offer matrix surround modes that have synthesized stereo surrounds, I am not willing to give that up. Citation's digital/analog hybrid, however, doesn't sound nearly as smooth to my ears as Theta's and Lexicon's all-digital implementations. It's nice to know that Proceed isn't as bad that dealer told me that they are, though. That would have been disappointing, to say the least. -Rakesh
