Here is all the information (verbatim) on the STR-DA555ES printed on a Sony flier that was handed out two weeks ago at Stereophile's Hi-Fi99 show in Chicago:

* surround mode: 120W x 5 @ 8 ohms, 20-20000Hz, 0.05% THD
* stereo mode: 120W x 2 @ 8 ohms, 20-20000Hz, 0.05% THD
* 24-bit Dolby Digital, DTS and Dolby Pro Logic decoding
* 32-bit DSP engine supports Digital Cinema Sound and Virtual 3D modes
* 5.1 multichannel input
* pre-programmed two-way touch panel LCD remote control

- Digital signal processing with 20 acoustic environments
- 4/8 ohms switching
- Dynamic 5-amp design
- Super Legato Linear
- 4 optical digital inputs
- 1 optical digital output
- 1 coaxial digital input
- 5 analog audio inputs / 2 outputs
- 5 video inputs / 3 outputs, all with S-video
- Control A1
- Soundfield Link
- Dual subwoofer outputs
- Preamplifier outputs
- Balance volume control
- 2 AC outlets
- Gold-plated headphone output
- Screw-type speaker terminals
- Large lapped power supply
- Cast aluminum heat sinks
- 5 year limited warranty

There are also pictures of the front of the receiver and its remote, and a diagram of its back. The bad news is, the remote does *not* seem to be a new one. The picture is sharp enough for me to read the model number of the remote and it is RM-TP501. (But that may perhaps change by the time the receiver is launched.)

I can send anyone who asks me by e-mail copies of the photo and the diagram.
