I had the great fortune of auditioning the Casa Nova with Bryston 7BST amps for ten days in May. Outstanding! I agree with all of the posted comments-the sound quality blew away the Lexicon MC-1 which I auditioned for a day with the same amps (and Def Tech BP-2000s, CLR 3000 center, BPX surrounds and Velodyne F1800RII sub). Dialogue on TV and DVD was crystal clear. The soundtrack to last episode of Homicide off of a Theta upgraded Sony sat rcvr ($1000) was surreal--even my wife was blown away that a TV program( in Circle Surround) was so lifelike and clear. FABULOUS!
A couple of glitches were noted which I discussed with Theta directly and of which they are aware:

1. From time to time, the remote stops working and the TV menu turns to a hodge podge of gobblygook. Theta thinks its some RF interference. Did not happen with MC-1. Reset by shutting down the Casa Nova and restarting a la rebooting a computer.

2. When changing channels on DirecTV, there is an audio fallout that lasts approx 2 seconds, then sound reappears, then another fallout for about 0.5 seconds. It then locks on with no further fallout. This happens EVERY time one swithes channels. Theta thinks it is a jitter problem (although I use a Theta TLC for jitter control. T heta recommends that I upgrade to their wide bandwith TLC.

3. When beginning a DVD in Dolby Digital, there is a 3-5 second delay of no sound before lock-on--a minor irritant.

DTS CDs sound so absolutely fabulous on the Casa Nova that I don't want to listen to ordinary 16 bit CD's again. Unfortunately for now, the number of DTS CD's in distribution can be counted on both hands. Buy everyone you can!

Let me know how you like the Casa Nova after you have more time to play with it. --Jim
