I have had a few of those, but not enough to annoy me (yet). I told Theta about them. Maybe we'll be getting a software update that will help cure this.

I have not tried to fast forward DVD's, so I can't speak about that issue.

My impression is that you have either a defect in your unit, or one of the cards in your machine worked itself loose in shipping. I have seen similar problems occur in computers with loose cards.

It's too bad that you have to send your unit back. Mine has had its share of flaws, but right now it's working flawlessly, so I'm not complaining. I hope you get your up and running quickly.

Look at the bright side, though. Theta's customer service is as good as Lexicon's, from what I have seen so far.
