How do I connect two pre-amps?

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98):

Hello,

I am considering purchasing a Denon AVD2000 for DVD Dolby Digital decoding. I would expect to connect the analog outputs of the 2000 to my power amps. The only analog inputs to the 2000 are for an external 5.1 decoder (adding DTS in future).

The question is, where would I connect my existing pre-amp? (which switches the AM/FM tuner, CD, and tape) The only thing that comes to my mind would be an A/B switch setup between the two pre-amps and the power amps.

I'm not too thrilled with this since it would be more cableing and another box. Alternatively, I could connect my existing stereo pre-amp outputs into the 2000's analog inputs, but that sounds kind of hokey.

Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions,
Marco
