Best alone AC3 decoder

My vote goes to Denon's AVD-2000 decoder . It has a built in RF demodulator, two sets of optical and coaxial inputs, and also a 6-channel input for a further decoder. A friend of mine owns one and - trust this - it sounds SUPERB. And it only costs £380 (About $570 - or at LOT less than $900!!)
It also has pro-logic built in - which it apparently does better than an Arcam AV50 (£700 worth, no less) can manage. Not only that, it has a built-in DAC which you can use to improve the CD playback of your CD/DVD/LD/whatever player. This is the one I'm aiming for - I'd advise you do the same.
Oh, and if you don't buy this, at least avoid the Yamaha DDP-2 - it's desperately limited, both in inputs and other facilities.
