Yamaha RXV vs RV

The RV1105 is synonomous to the RX-V795. They are basically the same unit. The watts/channel seem higher in the RV1105 model, because they have allowed the specs for THD to be higher, thereby raising the watts per channel spec so this unit can compete with the other receivers on the market in the high output super stores. The 1105 unit is marketed for the dude that goes to circuit city and buys a receiver on the watts per channel spec alone. So they inflate the value, just as pioneer, kenwood etc do at those particular types of stores. I called Yamaha about this. The techie there told me if you do the math with the differences in THD the two models end up being the same power per channel RMS.
