Marantz,Rotel,NAK or Yamaha Receiver?

I went in the store leaning towards the Marantz, but listend to the NAD 770 "just for reference". No comparision on music or HT, especially dialog and subtle passages.

When my wife said "The NAD sounds better no matter which speakers you use", we decided it was NAD or nothing. While we were at it we completed trashed our theoritcal budget and got the B&W CDM 1s
