Except for TV's I've never had good experiances with Sony equipment.

My friends brothers reciever blew the main amp chip 2 weeks after the warrenty expired.

I had a Laser Disk player that would repeatedly throw its belt, requiring me to take it apart and put it back together.

Sony CD players have a design flaw in the laser assembly. There is a small plastic spring that supports the lens. This little half cent spring has a tendency to wear out, meaning the magnets that focus the lens can't adjust properly, making the player skip. I have seen this problem dozens of times, in things ranging from Playstations to multi-disk changers, all becuase of this little spring that could be easily replaced for minimal cost.

As well I tend to find Sony products to be over priced compared to comprable products by other manufacturers.

I'd buy a Sony TV, but thats about it
