I've heard the same from my dealer here in Sydney in support of their current (then) Onkyo models without DTS capability vs Yama with DTS (they don't stock Yama). Whilst I am not quite up-to date with the coding formats, PAL (in its analog un-coded format) does take up about 30% more space than NTSC. (ie. a '90 mins PAL video tape' will fit 126 mins of NTSC). If the average NTSC DVD movie has at least 30% free space (I am guessing here), then it probably would fit.
