Sony TA-E9000ES Remote Control

Using Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98; DigExt):

I'm about to buy this pre-amp but am appalled by the user-unfriendly 2-way remote control. I have read that a 1-way remote from Sony was due out in the United States in June/July this year. I have a product number RM-PP402. Does anyone know of this?

Also, is it possible to turn off the beeps from the pre-amp when using the remote control?
