THX Processing

In short: THX is for making cinema soundtracks sound more enjoyable in home listening environments, by taming their high end heavy and bright studio sound.

PS: I will try to correct a common mistake of referring to THX as some kind of "DSP mode":

THX postprocessing is not specific to digital or analog domain, hence associating it with the term DigitalSignalProcessor is misguiding.
Moreover (and because of that) it (or parts of it) could be applied to any audio format - both digital (like DD), or analog (like DPL).
Some THX *subfunctions* like Timbre Matching may function only on surround formats, but others will even work with mundane stereo.
