I suspect you have speakers that are too far below 8 ohms (or even 6 ohms) at a point and is tripping the current sensing overload protection.

Does this happen in all modes - or only surround? If only when in surround, you could have a shorted wire which deals with a surround (or center) speaker where you need to be near full power to trip the output.

Yes I did say near full output...remember the amplifier on that receiver reaches clipping at the 1:00 position even if you have the 3D bass off and bass control set to flat. You are getting closer to maximum power than you might think!

Why not try another pair of speakers on the mains (or B channel zone) and see what happens.
