Thanks Alan, I really love the sound of the HK and truthfully really didn't buy the Carver to cover any shortcomings with the HK. I came across the Carver as a $600.00 "b-stock" item and after reading every review I could find I decided that it was indeed a good deal. It will pump out 180wpc in stereo and 5x125wpc for HT use. AS noted by most other owners, this amp is extremely quiet and neutral sounding. Its not a bright sounding amp (to my abused carpenters ears) but I suspect with bright speakers it might lean in that direction. I am leaning towards Energy C2's to replace my Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 system and I believe the C2's will mellow things a bit. The amp for the price was (in my mind) fairly inexpensive "future proofing". Right now I have $1180.00 invested in the HK/Carver combo and if DTS becomes a reality a MSB 5.1 channel input upgrade will still keep it under $1500.00. Not too bad considering that the HK can always be used in a seperate system. Anyway, got to justify it somehow! Hey, Check out my other post, "is bi-amping real or psyco-acoustic? Icould reall use some help there. Thanks again, Charlie.
