Protector mode in Sony STRDA50ES

I have the same set-up, yet I have not experienced the Protection Mode. I recall that this sounds like something that another 50ES user experienced and documented in an archived thread. You can contact him at MADSON@aol.com.

I believe he explained that it was a mechanical/electrical failure of the internal fan such that it didn't start rotating at power-up, causing the fault.
