THX claim to fame for its speakers are: dispersion characteristics, power handling, flat response, etc. All of the above are not exclusive to THX. Their exclusivity may be the fact that many studios monitor on THX types speakers.

Most, if not all, music production is monitored on non-THX speakers. Such recordings may sound more "accurate" on the type of speakers they are monitored on (usually wide dispersion) than narrow dispersion THX speakers. Hence the claim by many listeners that THX speakers do not sound good for music. Mabe, it is RLA that does not know what they are talking about.
